Car history:
This is a nice, old Stingray. Finished in Lemans Blue. The car starts and runs; shifts and drives very nicely. It has a numbers matching engine, a 375hp 350ci V8 with a 327 cam and solid lifters that dont need adjusting. It was professionally rebuilt around 60K miles ago. The engine number is 36314-V1177HY. It has the original 4-speed manual transmission, a M21 close-ratio Muncie. The carburetor is a Quadrajet. Includes the original AM/FM Stereo, auxiliary hardtop as well as power brakes and power steering. The rear end is the stock 3:36 ratio. The first owner purchased in Denver and immediately moved to California. He used the car primarily to commute between Santa Cruz and Los Angeles. The second owner bought in 1982 and rebuilt the engine, repainted the car and restored the interior. He sold it to a friend of ours in 1994 who has stored it in his warehouse and never drove it. In 2003 it was sold to its most current owner who is an elderly gentleman with a large collection of antique vehicles. He never drives it. The front surround was tapped on the driver side in the 70s. The first owner did not want to patch it so using Chevrolet parts from the dealer he had the surround replaced professionally with a brand new one so there would be no sign of repair. The second owner told me that when he was restoring it they stripped the paint to fiberglass and found the body to be very straight with no damage. So while the paint is older, the body is extremely nice. The car is not without imperfections. An auxiliary switch was installed to open the cowl door. The headrest was removed when the interior was redone. It is included but not installed. There are some chips and mild discoloration in the paint if you look closely. While the gauges all work, the odometer does not. The convertible frame is in the car and installed. We are including two brand new tops. A black one and a white one so you can decide which color you like best and have it installed yourself. This is a terrific, solid Corvette. Colors from the trim plate. 49,000 miles. June 23, 2008.
